SimuloCITY
An interactive game engine UX development aiming to help user experience future city scenario with VR tools



SimuloCITY is a business scenario simulation platform. Through virtual development and simulation technologies, users can create future business scenarios and data-driven business simulations, as well as experience their own creations on the Metaverse platform.

My role inside the project is the UX designer and XR developer, and I participated in the entire spam of the project from idea conceptualization to platform development. My main responsibility includes building up the sustainability aspect of the simulation, designing and developing lifestyle-focused scenarios, and incorporate user-oriented design strategies alongside a diverse team of designers and developers, to ensure the user experience is immersive, interactive and pedagogical.

The Metaverse builds a future world where digital and reality merge and complement each other, and it evolves and develops in multiple dimensions to form a "multiverse".

Scenario Development

Every scenario is hand-crafted with specific details and considerations. As a showcasing example, the resilient/ low-carbon life scenario contains an implementation of pneumatic recycling system, which involves stakeholder investigations and active negotiation with Envac, the main supplier. I took onto myself the role of coordinator during these negotiations and acted as a bridge between the involved parties. In particular, I demonstrated my capability to utilize 3D modeling, UX and XR tools to present industrial-scale product in an interactive and intriguing perspective.

Simulation Cycle

With various future city scenarios in our toolbox, I designed storytelling component of the simulation, showcasing a possible daily routine when you roam in a sustainable future city. Such simulation cycle let user experience and imagine the design as a whole, demonstrating new and alternative tools to conventional service design.


The eco scenario innovation within the future city research project emphasize on green infrastructure and sustainable urban solution, where you can explore each step of a sustainable life cycle with a first person perspective.

Guided tour of a complete story that user could freely explore

Robotic car - mechanical programming

I have experimented with Arduino in a small project to assemble a robotic car. It is capable of automated obstacle avoidance with a pre-programed script. There is an ultrasonic sensor installed at the front, which could rotate freely and gathers the distance information around its surrounding. It then feeds the information to an Arduino micro-controller that has been programmed to make decision to either make a turn, move forwards or double back based on the distance to the nearest obstacle it can sense.
